MISSION 254 - MERIMBULA / BANKSTOWN / MERIMBULA

Five years old, Gavin Ringland has Down Syndrome and requires frequent medical trips to Sydney. He has also had open heart surgery. This trip was for a range of tests which were carried out at the Royal Far West Children’s Health Scheme. A single parent, Carole has three boys - Jarrod, Todd and Gavin, and they live on a farm at Verona.  Normally Carole and Gavin make the journey with a friend driving them to Merimbula where they would catch the bus to Canberra and then travel to Sydney by train - over 9 hours one way.  This time the whole family got to go on the trip.

"Hi Angels,

I have always taken the cheapest form of transport - not the easiest.  So bus, train & ferry was always it.  This was our first trip in any type of plane & it was magical.

I am so grateful to Angel Flight, the pilots & earth angels who looked after us so well plus got us there in a fraction of the time.  If there were more unselfish, caring people like you - the world would be a much better place.

THANKYOU - XXXX ...... Love Carole, Jarrod, Todd & Gavin"

Comment to Ian Dagger, Earth Angel

“We have a great flight down and back and avoided the weather that we were originally concerned about.”
