 SUBSEQUENT TRIP REQUEST (3rd & 4th Angel flights)
Five year old Gavin has Down Syndrome and has to have frequent medical trips to Sydney. He has previously had open heart surgery.
This trip was for a range of tests to be carried out at the Royal Far West Children’s Health Scheme and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Angel flight 1 by Rex Regional Express
Previous missions for Rex Regional - M120 AF1, M135 AF1, M139 AF2, M185 AF1, M195 AF1, M217 AF2, M270 AF1.
Due to severe storms
Damien Synot, the pilot originally allocated to this Angel
flight, was unable to conduct this leg of the mission.
Specially discounted seats were booked on
a Rex Regional Express to transport Carole and Gavin to Sydney.
Thanks
again to Graham, our Earth Angel, who happily accommodated
the change in plans and drove 'our special cargo' from Sydney
Airport to the Royal Far West at Manly.

“Met Carole and Gavin at Sydney Airport T2 at 7.20 pm - their REX flight was delayed 1 hr 10 mainly because of the bad weather.
Dropped them off at Far West, Manly at 8.10 pm.
(I don't think the rain ever stopped from the time I left
home until I got back home again - but we need it)."

“It was a delight to meet Gavin and
his lovely mum Carole at Bankstown. He was a very brave and
happy little guy particularly considering the problems he's
had.
We became good mates over a chat and a few barley sugars during the two hour flight to Merimbula. He is scheduled for another check-up in six months so we're looking forward to an aerial reunion.
Our flight went very smoothly and strictly to plan with our Earth Angel right on time at both ends. It was a most enjoyable adventure for all of us including our Danish Rotary Exchange Student who came along as hostess and photographer. Her Angel Flight experience will be one of the highlights in her Australian diary.”

"Picked up Carole and Gavin at Manly at 0745 and drove them to Bankstown arriving at 0900. Traffic was heavy but it was peak hour. John was refuelling MTZ when we arrived. They departed for Merimbula at 0920. Flying conditions appeared ideal."
