Angel flight 1 by David Laughton
Comment by David To our delight Sharon had volunteered to conduct a quick Cook's Tour of Thargo while the plane was refuelled, so off went Robyn & Rae. We all gathered back at the Oasis Motel dining room for the best steak sandwich any of us had ever enjoyed, and Adrian insisted on paying for it which was very much appreciated. Heading off just before 3pm with a light tail wind and a bumpy ride the higher we climbed the better it got. Smooth & fast. Soon we were beetling along at 9500 ft gazing down at the stunning scenery and ejoying a 30 knot tail wind. The further we travelled the stronger the wind, and nearing Toowoomba the GPS showed us doing 180. On descent into Twoowomba, through fairly thick smoke the GPS showed us doing 201 knots, the best the old bird has managed in the past 20 years. In seemingly no time at all, and just before sunset, we arrived home having taken well over an hour less than our somewhat labourious outward journey, ending a bit over 6.5 hours flying for the day for all of us. Another couple of happy customers, and three happy crew." |

Thank you so much for my angel bear, it was such a lovely and unexpected surprise and really made my day! It was my absolute pleasure to be able to help out and hope I am able to do so again in the near future." |
