| MISSION 2388 - JANDAKOT / DENMARK | |
|
INITIAL TRIP REQUEST Six year old Caelan from Nornalup near Denmark had to attend the Princess Margaret Hospital in Subiaco regularly for chemotherapy treatment. Normally this would be a six hour drive for the parents and their two young children, but Angel Flight helped the family on this occasion. |

flight 1 by Bruce Harvey Comment by Bruce "After a relatively long wait to get takeoff clearance at a very busy Jandakot airport (what's new?), we got airborne at 10.20am local time, and climbed to a cruising altitude of 5000 feet. For the first half of the flight we were in smooth air and clear skies. We soon encountered the forecast cloud, but the minor turbulence didn't phase Caelen or his Mum, Natasha. His baby sister, Luella, slept most of the way. Fortunately the cloud base was well above 2000 feet, and we were able to avoid a detour to Albany, and landed at Denmark airfield at 11.50am. Caelen's Nana was there to meet them and drive them home. The return flight was uneventful although the first 30 minutes was again in IMC at 6000 feet. " |
