| MISSION 2409 - INVERELL / REDCLIFFE / INVERELL | |
|
SUBSEQUENT TRIP REQUEST: 3rd and 4th flights. Thirty-three year old Robert from Inverell
sustained a back injury and is unable to sit for long periods of time.
This Angel flight was for surgery with a specialist in Brisbane, as car
travel would have aggravated his condition. |

Comment by David "Apart from forgetting to cancel the SARTIME all went well." |

Angel flight 2 by Rob Evans
Comment by Rob "Quite a murky day for flying. Out of Redcliffe, we climbed up above the bad weather for most of the trip to get smooth flying conditions for Robert, as he had just had sections of his vertabrae fused. The approach to Inverell took us down to the minima before coming out of the cloud and rain. Of course, the autopilot chose this trip to fail (if we can ascribe 'choice' to a piece of machinery), so I got a lot of hand flying instrument flight practice. Robert's parents met us at Inverell - his Dad also just out of hospital in Sydney. The flight back involved dodging a number of thunderstorms, so I was pleased that the stormscope did not follow the example of the autopilot. I finally cleared the storms near the Queensland border and had a smooth run from there to Archerfield." |
