Angel flight 1 by Barrie Aarons
Comment by Barrie "Today's flights went well despite the horrible weather; I'm pleased we decided not to go to Robinvale as we wouldn't have got in. Out of the 4.4 hours of flight about 4.2 hours were in IFR conditions. On the way to MIA we had to divert around a large storm which was associated with moderately severe turbulence. Mildura had low cloud and rain and Moorabbin was closed to VFR and an instrument approach was necessary.
Tyana seemed to enjoy the bumps and even had a snooze for about half an hour. Irene Pendelbury hadn't flown before but said she enjoyed the flight. On the way home to Hamilton we actually flew through a cloud containing snow despite an outside temperature of +2 degrees. As we were about to commence our decent into HML soon anyway, I started a bit earlier and the snow melted fairly quickly.
This mission was flown in conjunction with mission 2437. |

Angel flight 2 by Mike McFarlane
Comment by Mike "Sali McFarlane (Pilot Helper) and myself were all organised for our flight to Mildura at 10.30am. Earth Angel Ray doppped Tara and Tyanna off at Essendon on time and pleased to report all went to plan; our very experienced Angel Flight passsengers slept most of the way to Mildura in the morning sun above the clouds and arrived refreshed and keen to catch up with their family after a week in Melbourne." |
