MISSION 2572 - TAMWORTH / BANKSTOWN / TAMWORTH

SUBSEQUENT TRIP REQUEST: 11th and 12th flights.

Thirteen year old Luke from Tamworth had a brain tumor removed in 2004 and a second tumor removed in July 2006. He requires an urgent PET scan at Westmead Children's Hospital due to a suspect nodule found from a recent MRI. Being over 4 hours to travel by car, and due to Luke's condition, this Angel flight greatly helped him and his family travel to Sydney.

Comment by Peter

"Leanne and Greg (Mum and Dad) were amazed that Angel Flight were able to organise this flight at such extremely short notice. Apparently the results of a scan that Luke had on the Monday required a follow up visit on the Wednesday. Leanne was advised of this on Tuesday and rang Angel Flight for assistance.

Fortunately as Wednesday was the last day of my holidays I was glad to help out. The family were ready and waiting right on the designated pick-up time of 8am. A smooth ride once through the cloud layer and 'on top' for the whole journey. I was hoping to be able to show Luke a 'rainbow circle' on top of the cloud but unfortunately the sun was at the wrong angle for this."
