Eleven year old Timothy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in April 2005. His mother Sue has given up work in order to care for him. This Angel flight was for a follow-up appointment with his oncologist.

"There was a little low cloud, so we diverted along the coast after Gosford, and came inland via Cessnock, then Scone, Murrurundi. After that it was quite clear to Wanderriby (Walcha). It was the first flight for Brad, Tim's father, and he really enjoyed it, even though he suffers a bit of motion sickness (not enough to be a problem).

Our smaller aviator had been given maps on a previous trip, and was map reading his way along, with interest. It was a far cry from his apprehension of his first flight, and even the threat of bumps, (which weren't as bad as expected) due to us being lower than we would have preferred (because of cloud in places) didn't faze him. Mother, Sue and sister Adrienne were there to meet them, and it was a happy gathering, especially as Tim had had good medical news as well."
