MISSION 2219 - JANDAKOT / ALBANY / JANDAKOT

INITIAL TRIP REQUEST

Forty year old Michael who was currently residing in Albany, had terminal end stage liver failure. He had not seen his children for some time and due to his illness he was not able to travel to Perth to see them. This Angel Flight was for his two teenage sons Wade and Mitchell to see their father one last time.

"We had to postpone departure of this flight because of thunderstorms and hail. So we departed at 9.00am Saturday with still some low cloud and rain showers. To remain VMC we tracked down the coast and were not able to turn towards Albany until we actually crossed the southern coast at Augusta.

It was a long way around however it was quite beautiful and the boys enjoyed their first flight in a light airplane. I took my 10 year old son and he had a great experience.

Comment by Matt

"The boys were in good spirits during the trip and interested to see the farming and mining activity from the air on their return trip to Perth."
