From humble beginnings 22 years ago, Angel Flight was founded by a man on a mission to bridge the distance in rural health, Bill Bristow -OA. Today, more than two decades later, Angel Flight has grown into a flourishing national service, helping over 100,000 rural Australians access the medical care they need.
Last week, this impact was formally recognised at the Australian Aviation Awards, where Angel Flight was named Industry Association of the Year among some of the most respected names in aviation. The Australian Aviation Awards is a prestigious national recognition program that celebrates outstanding individuals and organisations shaping the future of the aviation industry. This year’s black-tie gala, held on 14 August in Sydney, brought together 194 finalists competing across 29 categories, with the highest-scoring individual awarded the coveted Excellence Award.
Angel Flight is deeply honoured to have received the Industry Association of the Year Award and warmly congratulates all finalist —particularly Sue-Anne Munckton of Civil Aviation Academy Australasia (Sky Careers), who was presented with the 2025 Australian Aviation Awards Excellence Award. Our CEO Marjorie Pagani proudly accepted the award on behalf of Angel Flight, joined by our Communications and Partnerships Manager, Clarissa Wright. This recognition is a tribute to the tireless efforts of our small team, the dedication of our incredible volunteer pilots and drivers, and the generosity of our supporters.
As shared on the night:
“Winning this award recognises Angel Flight’s impact in bridging distance and delivering care—honouring our commitment to the lives of rural and remote Australians.”
