Pilots
Our pilots are our heroes
Angel Flight operates Australia-wide thanks to our growing network of volunteer pilots.
These pilots come from all walks of life and donate their time, skills and most of their aircraft costs for each flight. To help offset pilot operating costs, we subsidise fuel used on flights, negotiate the waiver of landing fees at many supporting airports around the country, and arrange the credit of any air navigation charges thanks to the support of Airservices Australia.
Want to join our incredible team of volunteer pilots?
You must have a minimum of 250PIC hours including those holding a CPL or ATPL.
You are required to comply with the statutory requirements applicable to you and the aircraft you fly, including the Directions (Instrument: F2022L00332) relating to community service flights from 17 March 2022.
Please Refer to the following for more information:
You also must undertake the Angel Flight Australia orientation course and AOPA US Public Benefit Flying: Balancing Safety and Compassion module. (Note: When logging on, leave the address box blank. If you enter your Australian address it will not let you proceed. We have permission from AOPA US to use this course.)
You must also provide a:
- copy of current Flight Crew Licence
- copy of current Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate
- copy of your ASIC card
- copy of all relevant reviews, endorsements, ratings or proficiency checks.
